Rivermead Roof Renovation
Rivermead Primary School, based in Berkshire, is currently undergoing construction work to install a new roof over their entire estate. Architects Wilby & Burnett have been appointed to carry out the considerable investment worth £344,000.
The funds come from the DfE's School Capital Funding BPET has been allocated having met the criteria to be classified a large multi-academy trust this year. The construction work has already started with scaffolding being mounted, and will be carried out throughout the summer holidays. The project is scheduled to last 12 weeks, with the intention of being completed early autumn term.
As works will overlap with term time, safety precautions have been taken to ensure the safety of pupils, staff and workers. Additionally, all operatives that will be onsite have submitted DBS checks to the school, and have received a code of conduct to follow while on school grounds.
Mark Greatrex, BPET Chief Executive, said: "We are delighted to be able to invest in the school buildings at Rivermead. No schools should have leaking roofs and this investment of over £330K is a benefit of the school being part of a multi-academy trust. I hope the new school facilities will provide an improved learning environment that will encourage every pupil to reach their full potential."
